Are an English-born Canadian former football player and
current head coach of the Chicago Fire in MLS? Frank Walter Yallop was born in
April 4, 1964 in England spending the majority of his playing career over 13
years making through 300 appearances for Ipswich Town, where he played in the
first three seasons in the Premier League. Frank moved then to play in MLS with
Tampa Bay Mutiny where he capped 52 for the Canada national football team.
Playing career:
Clubs:
Frank Yallop spends for nearly of 20 years playing
professional football in England and United States although he grew up in Vancouver.
Yallop at the age of 19 signed with Ipswich Town a
professional contract, but the team relegated from the first division in 1986,
and Yallop stayed loyal to it until they promoted again after six years later
to the FA Premier League.
After a long career in England, Yallop signed with Tampa Bay
Mutiny in MLS. And at the end of 1998 season Yallop retired from his playing
career.
International:
Yallop earned 52 caps, without scoring any goal, and he
represented Canada in 27 games of World Cup qualification, and the final
international game for his before retiring was against Costa Rica.
Coaching career:
Starting coaching career:
After retiring from playing career he started his coaching
career with the US Project-40 team in 1998, where he took the team to England
for five games tour. After that he became assistant coach for D.C. United under
the leading of head coach Thomas Rongen.
San Jose Earthquakes:
Yallop signed with San Jose Earthquakes to be a head coach
of the team in 2001 before two days of MLS Super Draft. And he called Dominic
Kinnear to be his assistant and they led San Jose Earthquakes to their first
MLS Championship.
And in 2003 Yallop led them again to their second MLS title,
and he was named in 2001 MLS Coach of the year.
Canada:
Yallop moved to Canada to sign to be head coach of the Canadian
national team in 2004. And he was inducted the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame.
Los Angeles Galaxy:
Yallop signed with Los Angeles Galaxy in June 7, 2006 but
after one year he resigned in November 2007.
Return to San Jose Earthquakes:
He returned back to San Jose Earthquakes on November 4, 2007.
Chicago Fire:
Yallop signed with Chicago Fire as new head coach in October
31, 2013.
