His name is Maaten Cornelis " Martin" Jol was born in January 16, 1956. He is former football player and current coach of Fulham in the Premier League. Jol was playing football as midfielder, where he played over 400 matches in Germany, Netherlands, and England. Jol also earned three caps with the Dutch national team. When he turned to his new career as a coach, he trained many times in many countries, and the beginning was from Roda JC, RKC Waalwijk JC, and AFC Ajax in Netherlands, then in the German Bundesliga with Hamburger SV, and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Playing career of Martin Jol:
Martin Jol started his playing career from amateur team to join then to the local professional team ADO Den Haag in 1973. He won the Dutch Cup with FC Twente in 1975. In 1978-1979 Jol moved to the Bundesliga to play with Bayern Munich to return back in 1979 to the Dutch Eredivisie to play with Twente again. Then in October 1980 he moved to join West Bromwich Albion in England. Jol then signed with Coventry City in 1984, after one season he retuned back to Den Haag in 1955, where he won the Dutch Footballer of the year 1985 award.

Martin Jol started his new career as a coach for amateur team ADO Den Haag, where he led them to highest local amateur division. He moved to another amateur team SVV Scheveningen when they won the national non-league championship. Jol then coached Roda JC in the professional Eredivisie, where they won the Dutch Cup in 1997. Martin Jol moved then to RKC Waalwijk and he saved them from relegation also got the Dutch Football Writers Coach of the Year in 2001and 2002.

Tottenham Hotspur:
In November 8, 2004 Martin Jol was appointed as Tottenham Hotspur manger as successor of Jacques Santini. Martin Jol won the FA Manager of the Month award in December 2004 after good start of the team by winning five league games in a row. In the 2008-2009 seasons Martin Jol moved to the German Bundesliga to be the Manager of Hamburger SVR. He led Hamburger to finish the league in the 5th place and qualify for the Europa League for the next year. They also reached with Jol to the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup and the German League Cup.  

Ajax:
In 2009 Martin Jol signed with AFC Ajax as a successor of Marco van Basten. Ajax started to slip down to 7th place in the Eredivisie. But he led them to win the Dutch Cup. But Jol resigned as manager of Ajax in December 2010.

Fulham:

Martin Jol moved to the English Premier League to sign with Fulham a contract for two years after the departure of Mark Hughes. So Jol led Fulham to finish the Premier league in the 9th place collecting 52 points.
