with France

German team survived from the Algerian nightmare and qualified
for the quarter-finals of the World Cup held in Brazil, after winning 2-1 in a
match stretched to extra time after the draw in original time goalless.
Schürrle scored the advancing goal of German in the 92nd minute overtime
first-half, and Mesut Ozil in 119 minutes, while Djabou scored the only goal
for Algeria after a minute, thus Germany
hit a big date with France on Friday in Rio de Janeiro.
The game was close affair at the highest level of the two
teams, and Algeria showed the high technical and physical and tactical level
and threatened the German goal with a lack of focus and brilliance of goalkeeper
Manuel Neuer, who covered a lot on the slow side of the defense saving them in
many serious attacks.
In the first half, the Algerian national team surprised the
Germans by quick offensive and organized attacks peeking at the rear of the
German defense.
The first threats of Algeria was in the ninth minute when Yassin
Brahimi took advantage of wayward pass from full-back German Shkodran Mustafi to
set off behind the ball towards goal Neuer, who threw it away, then Schweinsteiger
replied a missile shot was stopped by goalkeeper M'bolhi (m13), and Algerian reply
comes again a minute later of Sofiane Feghouli who eluded the German defense and
shot over goalkeeper Neuer goal.
The referee cancelled in the 16th minute a goal scored by Slimani
for offside, and Algerians continued wasting opportunities after himself Faouzi
Ghoulam left alone with goalkeeper Neuer and shot but outside the goal.
In the 39th minute was a long shot of Mustafa Mahdi on its way
to goal but it collided with defender Boateng, and Toni Kroos replied with a
powerful shot saved by M'bolhi to counter to Götze who shot it again and
M’bolhi could save it again and prevent a real goal.
In the second half the Algerian team continued to provide strong
tactical and technical performance, through stopping the German dangerous.
In 48 minutes M'bolhi continued his brilliance and saved a
header of German Mustafi, and again saved his nets of a strong shoot from Lahm
in the minute (54).
Algeria continued their offensive raids against Germany by
counterattacks and shoots but goalkeeper Neuer played great role more than German
defense preventing Algerians from scoring.
Mueller returned in the minute 78 to threaten Algerian
defenses and sends cross shoot to Schweinsteiger who nodded to pass just to the
right.
After 80 minutes, M'bolhi preventing most dangerous chance
in the German meeting after blocking Mueller header, to return to Schürrle who
chipped it into the net, and Rafik Halliche shot it away.
And Muller returned a minute later to receive the ball
skillfully high in Algeria penalty area and curled the ball towards M'bolhi goal
but it passed near the crossbar and lossing another opportunity for the
Germans.
In 88 minutes Feghouli was alone goalkeeper Neuer, who
played out of his goal once again.
In the first minutes of the first period of extra time Schürrle
scored a goal after a cross from Muller.
And Mustafa Mahdi was near to equalize the score with a
powerful shot from inside the penalty area, but it passed near of the German
crossbar (m 98).
And Algeria physically fell in extra time to take advantage
of the Germans relatively imposing control to the stadium and the match format
dropped significantly.
And the final minutes witnessed a big stir by scoring a goal
for both teams.
The Germans took advantage of counterattack in 119 minutes
against the Algerian goal, which saw large areas to score Ozil a second goal.
Then Djabou scored a goal from a strong shot to end the
meeting to the favor of the German team 2-1.
