Levante club announced today the sacking of Spanish coach
Jose Luis Mendilipar because of the poor results of
the team in La Liga, after receiving
the team five goals on home in front of his fans against Real Madrid in the
eighth round of the Spanish league.
Sources from the club referred that its Board of Directors
has decided to sack coach after an urgent meeting at the Ciudad de Valencia
Stadium, the stronghold of Levante held on Monday evening, for the poor
results.
Of the eight rounds Levante played in La Liga so far, lost
five meetings, four of them at home in front of its fans , while it won one
match and tied in two.
And Levante currently occupies the 19th position and before
the last with five points, one ahead for Granada the last team in La Liga.
After the meeting lasted for three hours in the presence of
the club's sporting director Manolo Salvador, Mendilipar arrived to the club
installations, where he joined the meeting for an hour.
It is scheduled to hold a press conference on Tuesday the
coach at (10:45 v m) to bid farewell to the masses.
The club said in a statement expressed gratitude for the
professionalism shown by the coach during his time in the leadership team, as
well as his assistant Anyaka Pia and physical coach Tony Ruiz.
