Christopher "Chris" Hughton was born 11 December
1958 in Stratford, a suburb of London; he is a former Irish footballer, and
current football manager for Norwich City team.

Christopher Hughton played as left back defender of Tottenham
in the 1980s; Hughton has 53 caps for Ireland between 1979 and 1991. He was the
first black player to wear the colors of the Irish selection.
He participated in the 1990 World Cup where Eire reached the
quarterfinals, only beaten by the host country, Italy.
After the end of his playing career in 1993, Hughton became
the coach of the under 21 Tottenham before becoming assistant coach of the
first team in 2001. He was then the assistant coach of the Irish selection from
2003 to 2005. In 2008, Hughton became assistant Kevin Keegan to Newcastle,
before being named caretaker coach following the departure of the latter.
Chris Hughton was still second coach under the command of
his compatriot Joe Kinnear and Alan Shearer, then he was appointed coach the
following year. He began, however, as caretaker before being officially awarded
the number one position coach. He knows a great first half of the season where
his team finished first with six points ahead of his nearest rival. He obtained
the title of best manager in August, September and November.
Chris Hughton resigned in 6 December 2010, while the club
11th in the Premier League, with four points clears of the relegation zone. His
eviction is justified by the desire to use a more experienced to permanently
keep the club coach. Meanwhile, assistant coach and former player Peter
Beardsley takes the position on a Caretaker basis.
For the 2011-2012 seasons, Chris Hughton leads the club
Birmingham City, which evolves Championship, the second tier of English
football. At the end of the season, he got a ticket for dams to rise in the
Premier League, but without success, it is ultimately West Ham who gets third
place for next season.
June 7, 2012, following the resignation of Paul Lambert, who
chose to join Aston Villa, Hughton becomes the new coach of Norwich, the
eleventh of last season Premier league1.
