Steve Bruce Biography

Stephen Roger " Steve " Bruce was born in December 31, 1960, he is English current football coach and earlier soccer player, Steve was born in Corbridge in Northumberland, when he was in school he was a promising football player, but he was rejected by a number of professional clubs, Steve was about to leave the game when he was finally offered to play with the club Gillingham, where he played with them more than 200 appearances before moving to Norwich City Club in 1984.

In 1987 Steve Bruce moved to Manchester United where he achieved with them a  great success, so he won the title of the English Premier League and FA Cup and League Cup English professional , and became the first player to English in the twentieth century who is commander of the team achieved a bilateral , despite his success in the stadiums , but he was not called to the England football , Steve has been described by commentators and contemporaries the best English player did not play with the team in the eighties and nineties of the twentieth century .

Bruce Began his coaching career with the Sheffield United club, and he spent short periods in the training of Huddersfield Town and Wigan athletic and Crystal Palace before coaching Birmingham City club in 2001, where Bruce led them to climb to the Premier League twice in the six years he spent with them, before resigning in 2007 to coach Wigan athletic club again.

Steve Bruce Began training Sunderland club in 2009, where he pay him a large sum by the owner of the club versus moving them and ignoring of view Newcastle United, which had offered him a large sum also to move to their own stadium, but Bruce lingered in the acceptance of the offer, he has been criticized by some journalists because of this decision. Bruce continued to coach this team to be impeached in November of 2011.

Bruce played with five English teams and participated in 926 games during his lifetime, and scored 113 goals for teams that play with them. Steve Bruce also has trained seven teams until today. The beginning of his career:

Bruce Born in Corbridge in Northumberland , who is the older brother of two brothers , they are Joe and Sheenagh Bruce, his father was born in the same city but his mother was born in Bangor in Northern Ireland.

Bruce spent season 1977/1978 in the ranks of the reserve team, although he was playing as a defender , but he was able to score 18 goals to end the season as soccer  , and in January 1979 Bruce was chosen to represent the youth of England, and played with them eight games and participated in the European Nations Cup football under 18 years old , and in May 1979 he had become close to playing his first game with the first team at the club , but Summers decided at the last minute not to be involved , where  the club wanted to qualify from the third division ,Though Bruce was unable to withstand heavy pressure resulting from that. In August 11, 1979 he played his first game with the club in the English League Cup professional match against Luton Town club. Steve Bruce has had a significant impact where he won the award for best player at the club in the season 1979/1980, he has played with the club more than 200 games have been chosen in the perfect team of the professional Association player for the third grade twice.

The Bruce is confident that the attention of the big clubs dogged him so he did not renew his contract with the Gillingham club, where the contract was valid until the end of season 1983-1984 , and in April 1983 in a match against Club Newport County he wanted to infect player rival Tommy Tynan intentionally , but he hit himself a broken leg kept him sidelined for six months, and returned to the club which has achieved two important draws with Everton in the FA Cup in 1984 to attract the attention of scouts in the first division clubs. Norwich City:

Bruce Began season 1994-1995, scoring a goal in his team's net in the first minute in the first match against Liverpool, but he scored the winning goal for his team in the semi- final of the professional League Cup English in front of their opponent Ipswich Town club, Steve Bruce has been named a player match in the final, he was to vote for him and chosen as a player of the year in the club Norwich City but the team relegated to the second division. In 1987 was chosen as the leader of England reserve to play in front of team Malta Football Association, and was the only match his shirt England and was touted as the best defender was not selected to represent the England football in that period, Bruce said afterwards: « I was shocked form the coach Bobby Robson at Benfica , he came to me and said " i should pick you for the team ," it was a good thing to hear such talk , but he did not encourage me at all, and I will always disappointed because I did not play even one-time » .

Bruce Began, at the end of 1987, attracting the attention of big clubs such as Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Rangers, which were interested in signing him, Manchester United was able to act quickly and enter into a contract with him, and it was Bruce has said before that he wants to play with the club.  the deal has been close to collapse when Norwich asked 900,000 pounds to drop him but accepted later by 800,000 pounds, due to the refusal of Bruce to play in any other game for the club because it was thought that it would threaten his dream move, and on 17 December 1987, before the completion of its seventh twenty slightly, he was declared the termination of the Bruce relationship with Carrow Road Stadium and moving to Manchester United for $ 800,000 or 825,000 pounds sterling.

Manchester United:

Bruce Played  his first game with Manchester United on 19 December 1987, when they won at Portsmouth 1-2, and played in 21 games of the 22 games remaining for the team league, to help the team to get the second place in the league for the first time since 1980 , and in the next season, the  team obtained center in the middle of the league, prompting manager Alex Ferguson to use a number of new players such as Gary Pallister , who joined the club in August 1989 coming from the club Middlesbrough , his participation was in the heart of the defense , as described by the commander of Manchester United in 2006 Gary Neville as the best in the history of the club , has been part of the team that won the FA Cup in 1990.

In the season that followed , Bruce was offered for  mission training three teams , but Ferguson refused to allow him to pursue opportunities where it was thought that he still has a role with the team , and Bruce played in the season in 30 matches , where Manchester United managed to get the title league , 12 points for Newcastle United, and after a week Bruce  was not with the squad of Manchester United , which was participating in the FA Cup final because of a simple injury, at the end of the match the captain Eric Cantona scored  a goal against Liverpool , and Cantona asked Bruce to receive  the cup but he refused , Ferguson said that the refusal of Bruce for receiving  the cup was a near sign of him to leave  the club , but Bruce aged 35 years was a suspect in the game in the next season , which is left of his contract, therefore he requested to move to Birmingham City club in the Premier League by free transfer, has signed a contract worth two million pounds sterling for two years to make it one of the more players which litigants funds in England.  

His coaching career

The beginnings of his coaching career:

Bruce led the Sheffield United club in his first season as a coach for eighth place in the first division. Despite the fact that his name has been associated of training Queens Park Rangers club, but Bruce remained away from football so appointed a coach of Wigan athletic  in April 2001, which reached the second division qualifiers , but lost in the semi - final. Then Bruce left club , which has been coached him for only two months , to be the coach of Crystal Palace, and despite the fact that his new club began the season 2001-2002 strongly by winning at the top of Serie A and were the most likely to qualify for the Premier League for the first time since the season 1997-1998 but Bruce decided to submit his resignation three months after the start of the season to return to the club Birmingham City for training , despite the rejection of the club his resignation , but they agreed later it, and during this time he identified as a coach does not stay for a long time in the clubs .  

Birmingham City:

When Bruce came to the Birmingham City club, the team was in the middle of the order of the first division. The team was able to overcome the former Bruce team Norwich City on penalties to qualify to the Premier League after an absence of 16 years, the team has suffered at the beginning of season 2002-2003 and remained in the bottom of the table, but Bruce signed with Christophe Doggery to revive team that finished the season Center thirteenth over arch - foe club Aston Villa for the first time since the seventies of the twentieth century.

the following season Started well for the club who could reach fourth place , but at the end of the season the team got on the tenth position in the league, and in spite of disappointment , Bruce has extended his contract with the club in June 2004 to remain at the club for five years , but after two months Freddy Shepherd Director Newcastle United 's first goal contracted as a substitute for coach Bobby Robson , the club was willing to pay £ 3 million for the club Birmingham , and was told that Bruce was wanting to move , but he remained at the club , saying: " I have a job I'm doing here and I am determined to get what I want " , and it was said  that Newcastle would be a large fine or confrontation legal if contracted , after three years, the director of club Birmingham David Sullivan said that the club stuck papyrus in order not to go to Newcastle and gave him the compensation he will reach seven million pounds. After the dismissal of Souness from Newcastle United in February 2006, the name Bruce again associated with the club, but Glenn Roeder took over the training mission. During this stage of the season 2005-2006 the club had suffered in the league, and in the March 21, 2006 were subjected to a major defeat seven goals to none of the Liverpool Football Club in the league quarter final in the FA Cup, some fans has called for the resignation of Bruce but the latter insisted that he would fight for his survival as head coach. Team was able to leave the relegation zone for the first time six months ago after the win over Bolton Wanderers at the beginning of April 2006, but they were not able to qualify after Portsmouth beat Wigan club athletic on April 29, which led to the landing to the first class.

Return to, Wigan athletic -Sunderland:

On 21 November, during the press conference, which was held to provide Bruce as a coach new to the club, Executive Director at the club Brenda Spencer said that the signing has been suspended due to unknown issues between Bruce and Birmingham, and in November 23 the Wigan club announced for conclusion of a contract with Bruce, and was his first game with the team in December 1, 2007, when he drew with Manchester City 1-1. Wigan club spent the rest of the season battling to avoid the drop, and in the penultimate game of the season managed to win over Aston Villa to ensure survival in the league, and in September 2008 associated with the name Bruce again club Newcastle United, following the dismissal of Kevin Keegan team training.
