Alex Ferguson Biography

Let’s speak and know something about the legend Alex Ferguson early life away from his football career, his father was Alexander Beaton Ferguson who was a plater’s assistant in the shipping industry, and Alex’s mother was Elizabeth (Nee Hardie), so Alex was born at his grandmother’s house on Shield hall Road, and then he grew up at 667 Govan Road in a tenement where he lived with his parents in addition to his brother Martin.

Alex Ferguson and Katy Cathy Ferguson née Holding were married in 1966 and they have three sons Marc was born in 1968 and the twins Darin and Jason were born in 1972.

His football Career as player

His full name is Sir Alexander Chapman Ferguson, he is a Scottish former football player and football coach, was born in December31, 1941 in Glasgow in Scotland some of football fans consider him as the best coach in the history of football!

Ferguson started his football career with Queens Park team in 1958, although he just played 31 games and scored 11 goals, he did not find a main place in the team. Then he moved into St Johnstone team in 1960, and played in until 1964, so with the team he participated with 37 games and scored 19 goals, there are triple against Rangers team after that he moved to the Dunfermline club in 1964, and played with them until 1976 so he lead them to compete on the title of the league and cup in 1967. But Alex was left out of the cup final in front of Celtic team, so they loosed the final with 3-2 then they lost the league by one point. So Ferguson has played with Dunfermline 88 games and scored 66 goals, and in the beginning of 1967 he moved to Rangers club and played with them until 1969 participating with them in 41 games. Ferguson continued his movement to sign with Falkirk club and he played with them until 1973, participating with them in 106 games and scored through 36 goals.

Finally in the year 1973/1974 he moved to the Air United where he played with them 24 games and scored through 9 goals.

Alex Ferguson Coach Career

East Stirlingshire:

Alex Ferguson started his coaching career in East Stirlingshire Club in June 1974 at the age of 32 years, where he was paid pounds in every week, although he did not work full time. The club had not a goalkeeper but Alex led them to achieve good results. 

St. Mirren offered to Alex for training the team although St. Mirren was playing in a lesser degree of East Stirlingshire and it was the biggest team of them, so Ferguson agreed to train St. Mirren.

St. Mirren:

Ferguson led St. Mirren to qualify for the first class in 1977 although the team was not able to spend a lot of money 1974 and 1978. St. Mirren was the only team who expelled Ferguson from his training because of the differences with the management of the team and which finally led to his expulsion from the team.

Aberdeen:

Ferguson started to train Aberdeen club in July 1978 after replacing the coach Billy McNeill who was moved to Celtic after his training to Aberdeen team for one year.

Ferguson led the team to reach to the semi-final of the Scottish Cup and the final of the Scottish league, and it finished in the fourth position in the primer Scottish League. Then in season 1979/1980 the team won the title of the Scottish primer League, which was the first time since 15 year which Celtic or Rangers team did not win with the title.

Ferguson was offered by Wolver Hampton Wanderers to train it but he refused.

In the 1983/1982 season was the best for Ferguson when he led his team to defeat Bayern Munich which is the later has defeated Tottenham with 4-1 goals. And in May11, 1983 Aberdeen won over Real Madrid with 2-1 as a result in the final of the European League to become the third Scottish team won European title, and then in the same season he led his team also to win the title of the Scottish Cup with lean goal over Rangers.

Then he led his team in the next year to win the title of the Scottish league during 1983/1984 and also the Scottish Cup, after that Arsenal and Tottenham offered him to train them but he refused that.

In the 1984/1985 they also won the title of the primer Scottish League and in 1985/1986 season the team finished in the fourth position.

He trained also the Scottish football team after the death of Jock Sixty.

Manchester United:

In 1991/1992 the team finished the season in the second position of the primer league after Leads United although they were the leader of the league in most of his levels, but they won England Cup for the first time in their history.

1992/1993 their first title of the primer league

After slow beginning in the primer league Ferguson could to bring Eric Cantona form Leads United and he could to lead t=his time to get the title of the premier league in his new edition for the first time.

1993/1994 their couple

Manchester United started the league in the first position and then it finished it in the first position, but they lost in the final of League cup and won the title of England cup over Chelsea with four clean goals.

1995/1996 their second couple

They achieved the title of the primer league in the last game, and they get the title of England Cup over Liverpool by Cantona’s lonely goal.

1996/1997 their another title

He led the team to win the title of the primer league for the fourth time during five seasons, and they reached to the semi-final of the champion’s league but they lost against Borussia Dortmund.

1997/1998 another season without titles

 The season finished without titles to the team.

1998/1999 their triple

Man united could to achieve a triple which it is possible to achieve again, so it won the title of the primer league and England Cup and the Champions league.

2000/2001 the seventh league

Fabian Bartiz joined to Man United coming from Monaco who became after that most expensive goalkeeper in the English football, then Van Nestle Roy joined the team and after that the team brought Juan Sebastian Veron from Lazio.

2001/2002 season without titles

They got the third position in the primer league and they went out of semi-final of the champion’s league by Leverkusen.

Ferguson thought of retiring and the season 2001/2002 was his last season which affects the players but in the 2002 he announced that he will continued for three years minimum.

In the summer of 2002 the team announced that he contracted with the player Rio Ferdinand coming from Leads united.

2002/2003 the eighth title of the primer league

Man United won the title of the primer league before two months of its end. But a problem was happened between Bickham and Ferguson then the first moved to Real Madrid.

2003/2004 the win with the title of England Cup

Ferguson led Man United to win the title of the England Cup for the 11th time in their history. But this season was disappointment where Man united got out from the Champions league early by Porto which was crowned the champion league, and in the primer league they got the third position and the team contracted with Cristiano Ronaldo which was his best deal.

2004/2005 Season without titles

In the beginning of the season Man United contracted with Wayne Ronny coming from Everton and with Gabriel Heinze coming from PSG and with Smith. But the team finished the season in the third position for the third time during the last four year.

2005/2006 the win with the title of English primer league cup

Ferguson contracted with the goalkeeper Van Der SAR, and Park je Song. The team got the second position in the premier league and they won the title of the English primer league cup where Van nestle Roy moved to Real Madrid.

2006/2007 season number 20 for Ferguson and the ninth title

The team contracted with the players Michael Carrick instead of Roy Keane and started the season by perfect beginning, and for the first time in their history they won their first four games.

Ferguson celebrated with the Man United his twentieth year in November6, 2006 and Arsin Finger and Roy Keane attended the celebration and many players.

Man United declared in december1, 2006 that it contracted with Henrik Larsson for three months. But Man United lost the final of FA Cup by Chelsea 1-0.

2007/2008 more titles

In the summer of 2007 Man United started it in wonderful way where the club announced that it contracted with the Brazilian player who came from Porto Anderson then it contracted with Owen Hargreaves and before the beginning of the season and with Carlos Tevez.

But Man United got out of F.A and it won the title of the primer league for the tenth time in his history, and finally it got the title of the champion’s league over Chelsea after nine years.

2008/2009 more titles

Man United defeated Portsmouth and got the title of Charity Shield Cup FA, and In December of 2008, the team was in competitions Club World Cup in Japan, which became the first English team to be crowned the competition, after the win over LDU Quito in the final.

Ferguson led the team to reach to the final of the FA Cup but it lost it and then they lost by Barcelona in the champions league.

2009/2010

The season was not as expected by the Man fans.

Man was able to win both of the title of the primer league and the champion league but the injury of Rooney banged the papers of the team and made it losing its strength and steam in the quarter –final of the champion’s league and in the primer league they lost the title by Chelsea.

But Man could to get one title in this season which is Carling Cup over Aston Villa.

2010/2011

Historical season for Man so in this season Man became a leader on England.

It could to get the title of the primer league for the 19 time so it became the only English team which gets the more titles.

Ferguson led his team to reach to the final of the champions league but he lost by Barcelona 3-1. Also it lost in the semi-final of England Cup by Man City 0-1.

And after this season three legends of Man United retired who were Gary Neville and Paul Scholes and Van der SAR.

2013

the official site announced retiring the owner of the 72-year-old after a 26-year stint with the Reds, he speaks himself for the site: "I have not taken the decision to retire easily, I did not plan to put an end to my career and I do not always deal with this particular issue seriously, but I found that appropriate time now to announce my retirement.”
