Loew abstained from voting on the Ballon d'Or because of German players




German coach Joachim Loew Declined from voting to choose a player who deserves to win the Golden Ball award conferred by the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) for this year.
In remarks to the German newspaper (Sport Bild) today, a spokesman for the German Federation of Football Jeans Geithner said, that Loew abstained from voting due to the presence of five players from the machinery team among the candidates for the prize, so did not want to give preference to one over the other.
The spokesman added that the presence of five players from the German national team between candidates for the Golden Ball award is a great honor for German football, but Loew abstained from voting in order to avoid embarrassment because FIFA reveals the details of the vote.
