Cuca Biography



His name is Alexi Stival and known as Cuca , he is a former football player and current football coach of Atletico Mineiro, he was born in June 7, 1963.
Playing career of Cuca:
Cuca was forward player , he played from 1984 until 1996 by starting in Santa Cruz-RS and ending his career with Chapecoense team. Cuca won with Gremio team the Copa do Brazil and the Cameonato Gaucho in 1989. Cuca played for the Brazil national team in one game against Paraguay in 1991.
Managerial career of Cuca:
Cuca managed a lot of team in his coaching career like Uberlandia, Avai, Brazil de Pelotas , Internacional de Lages, Gama, Criciuma, Parana, Goias, Sao Paulo, Gremio, Flamengo, Coritiba, Sao Caetano, Botafogo, Santos, Fluminese, Cruzeiro, and Atletico Mineiro.
When was Cuca the head coach of Botafogo team he won the Taca Rio twice in 2007 and 2008. And in after he was sacked as Santos head coach he signed with Fluminese in August 11, 2008. Then Cuca moved to Flamengo to be their head coach in December 12, 2008 to start his coaching in 2009 season. But he was sacked according to his poor results , to move then to Flumineses and again to be sacked in April 18, 2010 also according to his poor results.
Cuca Honours:
Cuca got a lot of honours as a player and also as a coach with many team he signed with so we will start from his first career as player with Gremio team where Cuca got the Copa do Brazil in 1989 and Campeonato Gaucho in 1989 and also in 1990. With Internacional , Cuca achieved Campeonato Gaucho in 1991, and thus he finished his honours as player.
Cuca as head coach could to achieved also a lot of honours starting from his coaching to the Botafogo team where he achieved Taca Rio in 2007, 2008. And then with Flamengo he achieved also Taca Rio in 2009 and Campeonato Carioca in 2009, then with Cruzeiro team he achieved Campeonato Mineiro in 2011. And finally Cuca achieved with Atletico Mineiro the Cameonato Mineiro in 2012-2013and Copa Libertadores in 2013.
