The French president Michel Platini Union of European
Football Associations (UEFA) Confirmed that he does not understand the decision
with regard to Franck Ribery to retire from international football with the
French team, stressing that the wing of Bayern Munich may receive punishment
if
he refused to play with cocks.
Ribery pulled from the list of France to participate in the
World Cup in Brazil because of injury, then later announced his international
retirement.
But Platini confirmed that Ribery may be subjected to
punishment if he was summoned to the French squad by coach Didier Deschamps and
refused that.
Platini said to the German newspaper "Bild" "I
do not understand this decision at all, it is not the decision of the player to
determine whether he wants to join the national team, it's the coach's
decision."
Platini stressed that the Ribery's decision is quite different from decision in Bayern
Munich teammate Philipp Lahm in international retirement with the German team.
"
He noted " Ribery situation a totally different, Franck
Ribery cannot simply decide whether he will play again for the benefit of
France or not, if summoned by coach Didier Deschamps, he should meet the
call."
He explained, "I do not understand at all, it is
French, and the European Nations Cup in 2016 will be held in France."
Earlier , Noël Le Graët President of the Union of French
football on Thursday said that, Franck Ribery of the French national team
player to reconsider his decision to retire from international football.
Le Graët said to the
website of the French Federation website: "Such kind of decisions that
relate to a talented player cannot be the result of the analysis of an
individual and should not be taken as definitive."
He continued: "This decision should take into account
the opinion of the coach and the interests of the French team."
